Cozumel Christmas

We had a destination Christmas this year, complete with sand, sun, and palm trees. If you haven't experienced Cozumel, Mexico, it's a definite travel MUST! We stayed at the Occidental Allegro (all inclusive is the way to go) and we rented a car for one day to see the town, shop, and hit the bars along the ocean side coast. Here's a short video we compiled of everyone's photos that gives a great overview of the trip!

Baby Kennedys First Birthday

Jason + Ashley, Milford, NE - SDE

This was a very special wedding for us.. Ashley owns Body Nouveaux and Spa in Lincoln (facials, massages, and body wraps!) and we've recently become friends through the wedding industry so I was VERY excited when she approached me about filming her wedding. I wanted to do something special for her, so after talking to her fiance prior to the wedding, I took their slideshow home the night before, finished it up for her and added the Same Day Edit footage at the end of it as a surprise! Due to some technical difficulties, we couldnt get the slideshow to play, but it was already on a DVD for her to pop in the next morning at brunch for her and her family to watch. Jim + Brooke, Omaha, NE Wedding

Brooke was a bridesmaid in a previous wedding we filmed a few years ago, and we were so excited when she called to tell us the news that she was engaged! This wedding was truly a fairy tale.. the attention to detail was nothing like I'd ever seen before and it made for a very memorable night.. at the zoo! We met her at the church before the ceremony, accompanied them in the limo and for photos, then on to the reception at the zoo for a celebration. Lonnie + Annie, Same Day Edit

We fell in love with this couple. And once I post a piece of their Love Story video, I think you will too. :) We had an amazing time with them all day Saturday - we showed up early to find Julianne and Lonnie about ready to get dressed for their first meeting. It truly was a heartfelt moment, beautifully placed next to an old brick wall, thanks to the fab Chris with La Brisa Photography. Chris and I had chatted a bit prior to meeting on Saturday and decided to try and surprise the bride and groom with a Same Day Edit at the reception, which they totally weren't expecting. We managed to pull it off successfully, resulting in shrieks, smiles, tears and hugs :) Check out the SDE video that was the surprise below.. and then check out La Brisa's images below!

Andy + Julie, Madison, WI

We traveled to Madison, Wisconsin last weekend to film the wedding of a high school friend Andy and his gorgeous bride Julie. What a blast it was! I love shooting in new places and this one was definitely great scenery. Our day began bright and early at the salon for hair and makeup, then back to the hotel to put on the dress. They were married at Burrows Park in a lakeside ceremony where the weather held up to be PERFECT, after an 80% chance of rain scare! We then went for photos at the state capital and on to the reception at the Zor Shrine building. What an amazing feeling to be able to share the day with a couple so in love.. enjoy these highlights and an image from fab photographer Leah with Leah Marie Photography!

Wes + Audrey, Lincoln, NE Wedding

Tear jerker. Those are the first words that come to mind when I think of the emotions that flew during this entire day! Audrey first came to us over a year before the wedding, wanting to put together a slideshow video for Wes for Father's day featuring their beautiful daughter Avery singing to him. She mentioned she was also planning her wedding and so we started chatting.. Audrey's wedding was one we have been looking forward to for SO long as we saw all her details come together every time we would chat. June 12, 2010 was the day and everything was perfect.. She was a gorgeous bride and the love between her and Wes glowed from them both the entire day. We met up with her at Illusions Salon where she works as a stylist, and then followed her to the church. At their first meeting, tears were flowing and the emotions continued all day. This is a must see video.. I can almost guarantee tears towards the end, but I'm not going to ruin the surprise! :)

Studio E Photography

The amazingly talented Elli from Studio E approached me early this year with an idea to do a marketing video to help promo her senior photo shoots.. after chatting a bit, I was completely stoked! We rounded up some senior models and did a photo shoot one Sunday down in the HayMarket in Lincoln. The footage was awesome and I think the video turned out pretty cool! If any of you seniors are looking for a place to have your senior photos taken, be sure to check out Studio E!

Shawn & Rebecca

What an amazing day this was! Shawn and Rebecca have been two of my good friends for the past few years and I knew this day was going to be a blast. I brought along my good friend Matt with Elwood Photography to give him a chance to try his hand at video.. I must say, I was pretty impressed! We started at Salon Jane where the girls had their hair done (by Rebecca's fab personal attendant, Suzanne) and then I followed out to Staplehurst, NE for the first meeting and ceremony. The limo bus ride took us out to a one lane bridge by Seward which made for a great photo opp. Once we arrived at the Ag Pavilion, our DJ Kurtis helped give our couple an entrance to Chris Brown's "Forever" that no one there will forget! Cari & Josh

What an amazing day this was! I first met Cari through Erin with Erin Stoll Photography when we were both shooting a wedding years ago, and when Cari called me to say she was engaged, I was ecstatic! She wanted to do a Love Story Video first and that's how I got to know her other half, Josh. We had a blast going through the questions, and some of Josh's answers made me laugh out loud. Once the wedding day was here, our cameras met Cari at the salon and followed them both capturing all the beauitful moments their day held. Since Erin was a bridesmaid, Cari had chosen Sarah with Sarah Pfeiffer Photography to photograph her day.. we always enjoy working a wedding with her! Check out their wedding day highlights below!

Sam & Shauna

Our second wedding of the weekend was nothing short of amazing. Sam & Shauna came to us over a year ago to talk about video for their wedding and we were so blessed to be able to be a part of their special day! I got to know them during the Love Story video we created for them telling their story of how they met, how Sam proposed, etc. It was so adorable and will be an beautiful keepsake for them for years! A short clip of it is posted below. We then accompanied them on their wedding day and got to experience the amazing love these two have for each other. We were excited to work with Frank Ekeler with Ekeler Photography and his images can be seen here. Bailey & Evan

Words can't even begin to describe Bailey and Evan's wedding day. After a beautifully emotional ceremony outside at the barns at Lied Lodge in Nebraska City, we moved inside the barns for a reception staged right out of Martha Stewart magazine. Petal Creations provided a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony and all the reception decor - everything looked amazing! Bailey and Evan kicked things the night off right with a unique twist on one of their dances.. Jeff from Primetime music put together a special music clip for them, and you'll have to tune in below to see what I mean! First their highlights.. the surprise dance coming soon!

Jeff & Corey - Kauai, HI

WOW! That's the only way to describe the wedding from last weekend. We are down in Hawaii right now, on the island of Kauai, and it is absolutely beautiful. Jeff and Corey chose the sand right outside the Waipouli Beach Resort to exchange vows in front of a few close friends and family. We were honored and very excited to be a part of their special day! Corner Star Dance

While we still specialize in weddings only, we were asked to flim the dance recital for the Corner Star Dance Studio in Milford, NE last weekend. Our good photographer friend Elli from Studio E Photography sent us the referral, and we decided to help them out. Below is a preview of their final DVD.. it's the finale dance to Thriller, performed by all the dance studio staff members as well as the Milford High School Dance team. It was an amazing dance and I wanted to share! Check it out!:)

2010 Fantasy Wedding Show

Our Fantasy Wedding Show was held last Sunday, April 25 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts in downtown Lincoln. It was quite the event, with almost 40 awesome vendors, a super unique runway show courtesy of David's Bridal and Best Styles Formalwear, and tons of prize giveaways! Congrats to the winner of our FREE 5 hour DJ package for her wedding, Elise Alit! Check out the photos below, courtesy of The Leeker's Photography - they turned out great! BRIDES Magazine Helpful Hints

I'm such a sucker for wedding magazines.. I'm always buying them in the grocery line and then filling out the little subscription cards. I swear I read so many I don't know how I keep up some months! I found some really cool information in the latest edition of BRIDES Magazine that I simply must share!

Apparently, 5% of brides purchase more than one gown, and out of that, 2% buy more than two! I'm guessing is this is for the brides with the bigger budget.. I know I'm going to get all the wear out of my ONE dress that I can!

Are you a bride who needs to get organized? Google now has a wedding specific website to help brides keep everything order. They have more than 20 templates for addresses, budgets, photos, music lists, and more!

The Trend of Friday Weddings

Have you heard? Fridays are the NEW Saturdays! More and more brides are choosing to for go the traditional Saturday wedding and opt for something new.. getting married on a Friday! It can definitely have it's advantages.. Most venues will offer discounted rates on Fridays because those days aren't as in demand as Saturdays are. Well we aren't a venue, but we do want to be a part of your Friday wedding! A Sound Impression is offering $100 off any package booked with us that's on a Friday! Patrick & Rae, 3.20.10

These two came to us a few weeks before the wedding as a last minute decision - and we are SO glad they did! We had an absolute blast! I met them at the church while they were both still getting ready, with just enough time to get some shots of Rae seeing her son for the first time that day. When she was ready, we took her downstairs where Patrick was waiting to see her for the first time in her dress. His reaction said "stunning!" and we let them have a few moments together. The ceremony went without a hitch, and soon they were headed towards their Hummer with bubbles swirling around. We stopped at the Capital to take some photos on the steps outside, then headed down to Holiday Inn downtown for their reception. She had the cutest idea to attach charms with ribbons to her cake and have all her bridesmaids pull the ribbons at the same time to receive the charms.. I love seeing new things! Jeff with Primetime Music kept the tunes flowing all night and we got to work with Dave from Richmond Photography - can't wait to see his images! Josh & Mollie

Two words to describe the unique wedding of this amazing couple: green pumas. That's what all the groomsmen wore with their tuxes - what a cute idea! This irish couple loves St. Patrick's Day and chose to have their reception on the weekend of the big parade that happens every year in Omaha to so they can incorporate that into their anniversary. Their wedding and reception were both at the Grand Manse in downtown Lincoln - always a beautiful venue! As always, our DJ had a blast at their reception, jamming out to Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly and Passion Pit - can you think of better music for an irish reception? What a beautiful wedding! We were blessed to work with Liz & Pepper on their wedding, helping them plan a huge party for all their guests. I knew it was going to be an amazing night when I asked their first dance song, and they responded with "Stellar" by Incubus.. Ah! Talk about creative! :) Our DJ Kurtis had a lot of fun keeping the tunes flowing while they partied all night long at Wilderness Ridge. First Birthday

What an awesome opportunity this was! Erin from Erin Stoll Photography called me up and asked me to swing by and film her daughter's first birthday photo shoot with a piece of pink cake - how could I say no? I really enjoy working with Erin and Cari whenever I get the chance.. not to mention Livya is absolutely adorable and was one of the most animated one year olds I've ever seen! YWCA Shakin' Things Up

What a blast! Last Friday, the YWCA sponsored a fundraising event called Shakin' Things Up held at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. What a fun event! Five different bars participated in a martini contest, competing against each other. Each attendee gets one martini from each bar and then casts a vote at the end of the night for their favorite. This was the third annual YWCA Martini Event and was the most successful yet! Over 250 people went through the doors - almost 150 more than the previous year! We donated our music services to the event, and our DJ Kurtis was there playing some rocking music and keeping the party going. Special thanks to the bars that participated: Zens, Starlite, Docs, venue, and red9 - also, special thanks to Toberlin Photography for the use of these images below! We always love working with him and were excited to hear he was donating his services as well!
