Mark & Sara

My first wedding after a snowfall this year! I love winter weddings.. they are few and far between and each one is so unique! I met Sara a year and a half ago as bridesmaids in my cousin's wedding and we've stayed in touch ever since. As soon as her and Mark got engaged, she called right away to check availability.. after moving some things around and trying differnet options, we were finally able to make the same date work. I was SO excited to work with her and couldn't wait to spend the day with them. They were married in McCook, NE with a reception following at the Community Building. It was our first trip to McCook and the drive was worth it - the day was just as beautiful as I could have imagined! We enjoyed working with Adam Powers from apimages and are excited to see his photos. Check out Mark and Sara's highlights below!

Skip Hopkins

I was sitting at a coffee shop this morning working and happened to notice the guy next to me editing wedding photos - LOVE when that happens! We started chatting - turns out he is Skip Hopkins of Skip Hopkins Photography based in Nashville, TN. After browsing his website, I decided I had to share him with all of you. He photographed the wedding of Cassie & Charles (from Lady Antebellum) in the Bahamas and had those photos featured in People magazine for it - Congratulations! That's no easy feat and I'm very impressed. From his wedding gallery and blog posts I can tell he's done a variety of different weddings in many different places. Below are a few of my favorite photos from his wedding gallery - Enjoy!

Outdoor Proposal!

Wow, can we say magic moment? This was SOOO much fun to film! Jeff and Corey have been friends of mine for a while and when Jeff approached me about filming the proposal, I was more than ecstatic! Sarah Pfeiffer and I went to scope out the location and put some plans in place with Jeff. We waited outside at James Arthur Vineyards until we saw them walk out and captured it all from the bushes.. what an emotional moment! Check out the video below and I can't wait to see the photos from Sarah!

From the Groom..
"This is the best video I've ever had in my life.. I can't tell you how perfect it is! You really captured one of the happiest moments in our life together, she is still on Cloud 9. Thank you sooo much! It turned out perfect and I couldn't have done it without you and Sarah. I cry every time I watch it!"

Midwest Bridal Association

For those couples that are not familiar, the Midwest Bridal Association is an organization that was established as a way to classify the best of the best Wedding Vendors in the Midwest. To be accepted, a vendor must first submit an application with references that goes in front of a panel, which then decides whether the vendor's reputation and history are up to Association's standards. Judging criteria includes amount of time in business, reputation with brides and other vendors, and customer service. Couples can spot these vendors on the Midwest Bridal Associations website or by seeing the MBA logo on advertisements by the vendors or prominentely displayed on their website or in their offices. We are proud to announce that A Sound Impression was a recent inductee into the Midwest Bridal Association!

Leah & Simeon

Hottest new wedding colors? Orange and Blue of course! And our photographer friend Leah Lund ROCKED them at her wedding on October 3 and were there to catch every moment! She was blessed with a beautiful day as she tied the knot after seven years together with her boyfriend Simeon.. what a magical day! They threw a huge party at the Grand Manse in the Jasmine Room that was gorgeously decorated by my friend (and the uber-talented) Stacy with Petal Creations. You can see some of her gorgeous images from her photographer friend becker on his blog and read about her point of view on Leah's blog. It was a fabulous day and we know she enjoyed every moment of it!

Chris & Tara

What a blast these two were! Chris and Tara are big Husker fans.. and instead of getting married on a Game Day, they chose a gorgeous Friday in mid September and couldn't have gotten more perfect weather. Huskers were woven in throughout their day.. Tara had fun red heels on under her dress and Chris and his groomsmen wore Husker plaid socks under their tuxes.. how cute! They were married at First Plymouth church with their reception following at Nebraska Champions Club next to the stadium. We loved working with Khara from Kabloom Studios - her work was amazing, from our trek around downtown to photos at the stadium. Their highlights are below.. enjoy!

Beth & Michael

I adored these two! They were married in Omaha on what turned out to be one of the nicest days weather-wise we've had all year.. how lucky! It was our first time working with Douglas Gunder photography and we can't wait to see how his photos turned out. Thank you Beth & Michael for allowing us to capture your wedding day.. we definitely had a blast! :)

Vernon & Sally

What a wedding day this was! We had an absolute blast with Sally & Vernon, plus many of our favorite vendors! They had a very unique and fun ceremony, with Vernon's brother performing a rap in the middle and the flower girls racing down the aisle. We took a limo to Wilderness Ridge fountains for photos, then into the lodge for a reception. Sally's son called from overseas in the middle of dinner with a toast we played over the speakers.. you could feel the emotion in the room! Her wedding coordinator, Sara Brown with Bella Signature Events kept the day on track and solving any problems that arose. Her photographer, Jamy Sullivan captured it all on film. The night had a few small set backs, but we made it through okay and what a party it was! Below is their choreographed first dance.. soon to be accompanied by their wedding day highlights. Enjoy!

Jim & Julie

Congratulations Jim and Julie! They were married last weekend at a beautiful church in Cortland, which was our first time filming out there. They were blessed with a beautiful day and a perfect ceremony.. the bridesmaids and Julie all wore red heels with their dresses and the entire wedding party had similiar sunglass to wear.. how fun! Their limo stopped at Grata for a few drinks before the reception at the Cornhusker in Downtown Lincoln. We got the chance to work with a lot of great vendors, including Patrick from the Cornhusker, Ginger from Atlantis Salon & Spa, Stacy with Petal Creations and Frank with Ekeler Photography. This was our first time working together with Frank and we were very excited about it - he did a fantastic job and we can't wait to see some images! Their highlights are below.. check them out!

Elwood Photography

As a professional in this wedding industry, I get the opportunity to work with many different vendors at each wedding and it's always a breath of fresh air to find one who is outstanding at their job. We've gotten the chance to work with Matt Elwood from Elwood Photography at many weddings this past summer and it's been a blast every time. He is an absolutely fabulous photographer to work with - his work is stunning and he's so much fun to be around! We've partnered with him to offer a 10% discount off BOTH your photography package AND your DJ or Video when you book with both of us for your wedding.. that's how much we love working together! I'm posting some of his images below.. check them out!

Wedding Music Mistakes!

You've never planned a wedding reception before.. we get it! That's why we are here - to help make sure your night flows smoothly and everything goes as planned. As tempting as it may be to try and save money by providing the music/entertainment yourself, a DJ/MC/or Band can be very helpful in coordinating the night and keeping the dance floor full. Couples make three major mistakes when planning their reception entertainment and we stumbled across an article that is full of great information on how to avoid it - to help keep your wedding planning stress free, of course :)

Chris & Jen (x2!)

This couple was awesome! I had a blast hanging out with them all day. We started at Northwest Hills United Church of Christ in Omaha for their ceremony, which was beautiful. They had a fun church exit in bubbles and boarded a truck-limo from Extreme Racing Limousines - how cute! We stopped at Upstream along the way for some down time (and to prove that Honey Raspberry beer really is the best on earth - thanks Jen!) before continuing on to the Scottish Rite Temple for her reception. It was my first time in that venue and I fell in love! The main ballroom was the perfect size, with adjoining rooms for the buffet and the bar to work perfectly. We stayed through their wedding party dance (which was choreographed to ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man") and had a blast the entire time. Our DJ kept the dance floor packed, making sure everyone had fun. Thanks again for letting us spend the day with you! Their highlights are below.. check them out!

Mat & Christy, 8.8.09

One word: Wow! Megan and I were truly amazed by these two.. we had the opportunity to put together a Love Story video for them before the wedding, detailing how they met, the proposal, and what they are most looking forward to on their wedding day. After being together for 7 years, these two are the definition of true love and we were blessed to spend the day with them! They were married in Lincoln with a reception following at Hillcrest Country Club, which was absolutely stunning. They carried the sunflower theme throughout, on their programs, in her bouquets, and with cookies at every seat. We got to work with Jamy Sullivan Photography and her ideas for photos were gorgeous - we were up in the balcony at sunset - I can't wait to see her images! The highlights are below - Enjoy!! :)

Troy & Ashley

This was a very special wedding - Ashley is a high school friend of mine and we were so excited at the chance to video her wedding! Her and Troy got the most perfect day for their wedding and things turned out amazing. They tied the knot in the Methodist church in our hometown of Harlan, IA with the reception at the Therkildsen Center. From their first meeting to their bouquet and garter, you can tell these two are so in love :) We got some fantastic footage - check out the highlights below!

Chad & Lauren

What an amazing day! I traveled to Dallas, TX last weekend to film the wedding of two friends and it was absolutely stunning! It meant a lot to me because I've gotten to know each of them as individuals before I even found out they were dating. I got to know Chad through our Senior Campaigns class at UNL, where our group spent many late nights up editing projects and planning details. Lauren and I met when she interviewed to be an addition to our staff here at ASI and have spent many weddings filming together. It was truly a blessing to be involved in this day and I want to extend a big thank you to Lauren, Chad and both their families for the opportunity. I got the chance to work with Paul & Andy with imaginography Photography and can't wait to see their photos. Below are the highlights from their day - I purposely made this one longer than normal since I know many of their friends weren't able to make the trip to Dallas to see it in person. The footage turned out amazing and thank you both again!

Brides To Be!

Wedding season is in FULL swing! We took a break this Sunday to work the KFRX Bridal Show at the Cornhusker Marriott in downtown Lincoln. What a great turnout! There was so many fun couples and great vendors to chat with - I love learning all about the new wedding trends and meeting new people! We tried a different giveaway this time around - brides were registering to win an iPod shuffle after completing a short quiz about their musical style. Congratulations to our winner, Kayla Heitman! We had fun and we sure hope the couples did as well! :)

Nick & Jennifer, 6.20.09

We got to know Jennifer & Nick pretty well before their wedding - we spent some time interviewing the two of them over how they met, first kiss, proposal, etc. and then we were invited to tag alone to video their engagement photos. We then created a video for them that was a huge hit at the rehearsal dinner and reception. The two were married at Westminister Presbyterian here in Lincoln in a beautiful ceremony that turned out perfect. We then boarded the limo and headed to Pioneers Park for a photo session. The rain kept us from shooting anything outside, so we made a quick pit stop at Barry's downtown (the location of where they first met!). The reception was at Embassy Suites - and wow, it was "stops you in your tracks" gorgeous! She had placed bags containing a CD of their favorite music at every seat and the centerpieces tied the whole room together. On The Fritz provided the reception entertainment and it was such a great party! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day - Enjoy your highlights! :)

Nick & Jayne

What an amazing day.. These two were so incredibly in love! We set out to film Nick & Jayne's wedding ceremony at the Vine Congregational church on a gorgeous Saturday in June. The limo arrived as they exited and we got to catch the party all on video. We then headed to the Country Club of Lincoln for her gorgeous reception, along with some fun photos on the golf course! Our DJ kept the dance floor packed, making sure everyone had a great time. It was the perfect day and we were blessed to have gotten to share it with these two!

Josh & Angela

Angela and Josh tied the knot on May 30, 2009 and they received a beautiful day for it! We started at Messiah Lutheran for the ceremony, then moved on to Wesleyan for a quick photo session and then to The Rock for a party! The Rock was transformed and looked amazing, with tons of colors and decorations. Seward Country Club prepared a great meal for everyone and the cake turned out perfect (I heard it was even better than it looked!) We enjoyed working with Erin Stoll Photography
all day and I can't wait to see her images - my highlights are below, enjoy!!

Jon & Erin

What a weekend - 2 friends that I've gotten to know over the last 3 years tied the knot on Saturday. I always love filming a wedding for friends, and Saturday truly was an amazing day! Jon & Erin started the day off with a photo session at the Capital with one of my fav photographers, Matt Elwood of Elwood Photography. The ceremony followed at Good Sheppard Lutheran Church and it was beautiful! We had a blast in the Limo bus, and after a short set back we finally made it to the Ag Pavillion in Seward. It was my first wedding there and what a party place! Our DJ rocked the dance floor as we partied all night long - I couldn't wait to finish their highlights and exactly 24 hours after we left the wedding, here they are.. Enjoy!! :)

Tyler & Brook

May 29, 2009 - These two had something special that you can see right away - They've been together four and a half years, with Tyler being gone overseas for two of it. The wedding was an emotional event for them and their families and we were blessed to be a part of it! The ceremony was held at Berean Church here in Lincoln with a reception at Chez Hay. We DJed the party here too and what a great time! We were excited to work with Sarah Pfeiffer Photography and are always impressed with her work! Below are the highlights from their special day and I've also added some photos from Sarah - Take a look!

Shane & Sara

These two were absolutely adorable - I got the opportunity to get to know them a little better before the wedding when we created their Love Story video. They were a blast during the interviews, telling the story of how Shane's first words to her were "Can I order a chicken sandwich?" and Sara saying thet she wears the pants in the relationship. The love they have for each other is genuinely special, which is why I was so excited for their wedding! The couple tied the knot on May 23 with a very emotional ceremony at First Baptist Church and a party following at Embassy Suites. It was an amazing reception, complete with a Marachi Band and customized Hot Sauce labels. Our DJ kept the dance floor full and the party rocking. I had a blast working with Lani from Allure Photographic and I can't wait to see the images! Below are the highlights from their wedding day - Congrats you two! Have fun on your honeymoon!

Jake & Stephanie

This was our first exposure to the new Jasmine room in the Grand Manse downtown and it was beautiful! Stephanie and Jake had the unfortunate circumstance of their reception hall burning down in the midst of their wedding planning and then decided on a new city, new venue, and new date.. talk about stress! She did a fabulous job and planned an elegant day - everything about it was perfect! We got to work with Elli from Studio E Photography and as always she was a blast.. I can't wait to see her photos. Stephanie and Jake had a choreographed first dance to "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and they nailed it! Congratulations you two and thank you for letting us share your special day!

Rachel & Jordan

Wow - what a day they had! These two are absolutely perfect and were blessed with a beautiful day to match. Rachel and Jordan tied the knot at St. Peters Catholic Church, followed by a party at Hillcrest Country Club. We worked along side Matt with Elwood Photography who never disappoints - I've put some of his teaser photos below. We helped Rachel and Jordan plan this perfect day and were there to coordinate the day of. Our DJs kept the party going and we captured every moment on video. Their highlights are below for you to check out - Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!

2009 Graduates!

Wow, almost another school year coming to a close! My little sister is a Senior this year (hard to believe!) and I've been putting some things together for her graduation. Below are three graduation invitations I designed for her using her senior photos. I'm also working on a storybook video of the last 18 years of her life, which she'll play at her party to showcase her photos and home videos in a more entertaining way. I've posted a short clip from the video below, check it out! If you know any seniors who are looking for a unique way to put their photos on display while creating a forever keepsake for them or their families, let us show you what we can do!

Andrea & Jon

We were blessed with the opportunity to accompany Andrea & Jon on their special day, December 27, 2008. These two light up the world and together will be unstoppable. We met them at the church where they chose to have a traditional wedding without seeing each other until Andrea was escorted down the aisle by her father. Afterwards, we followed in a limo, stopping outside Hillcrest Country Club for a quick photo session. Those photos are below along with the video highlights of their day. What a beautiful start to their new life - Congratulations you two!

Jon & Jessica

Back in September we filmed the wedding of Jessica and Jon in Nebraska City - it was a beautiful day! The bride and groom were incredible and so in love - which makes for the best footage. We captured the day along side JHD Photography and we had a blast. Lauren accompanied the wedding party in the limo while Luke and I went to the reception to see the Hypnotist she'd hired as entertainment - what a great idea! Below are the highlights from their special day - thank you for letting us be a part of it!
